“ Still come here all the time for dinner. Never disappoints! I'm addicted to the truffle ponzu sauce and the quality of the meat here. We tried the new shrimp balls with salted egg and they were also delicious. I've sent a few friends here a while ago and they tell me they come back every now and then. ”
“ GET THE KIMCHI AND TOM YUM- it's an ELITE COMBO This place will be your go to for those cold nights you want to be comforted. Service here is also top notch (A1 5 stars) And if you're lean bulking or trying to get snatched (large angus lean beef is the one). My girlfriend brings her scale to measure and this is the spot if you trying to hit your goals ”
“ Shabu Time is my go-to place for when I'm craving hot pot and don't want to spend $$$ for Hai Di Lao, and for when I also don't want AYCE hot pot. I love that service and food quality are always consistent. I usually get the sukiyaki broth and the tonkatsu broth, American Kobe beef and toro beef. When you order the meat entree (instead of as an additional side), it also comes with a plate of veggies and a carb of your choice (vermicelli, rice, ramen noodles). Would definitely recommend these broths/meats! The interior is on the smaller side for a hot pot place, and sometimes there is a wait, but they're pretty good at seating people in a timely manner. Pricing isn't terrible--total for two people usually comes out to about $70 (with the selections above^) or about $35 per person, which is on par with or better than other a la carte hot pot places in the South Bay. Four stars because I don't like that you have to pay extra to get ramen noodles or tonkatsu broth haha, and there's not a ton of sauce options. Overall though, if you're in the mood for shabu, this place hits the spot! ”
“ The food was great! Despite being busy, our server was always cheerful and willing to help. The place could be a little bigger to make it easier to walk for both customers and servers but overall - great first time trying this place! ”
“ First time here, amazing food, outstanding service! We tried the Angus and Toro beef, highly recommend the Toro beef! ”
“ My favorite hot pot place in the Bay Area for Ala Carte! We usually come here on Sunday nights and there isn't a wait. We always get toro beef and it's the perfect cut. It's soft and melts in your mouth. They recently added the kimchi and kimchi miso as seasonal broth flavors. We've only tried the kimchi miso, and it was really good! It was tangy and sour while maintaining the miso taste. I'll definitely be returning to try the kimchi broth. I also liked how the staff here are attentive and always checking in on us. It's definitely a nice cute place in DTSJ to eat hot pot. ”
“ The restaurant has a bustling and energetic vibe, but the noise level can be high due to limited sound barriers. Friendly and attentive staff made for a positive experience. The spicy miso broth stood out as a highlight, while the tonkatsu broth was a bit underwhelming without added spice. The entrees and appetizers were enjoyable, particularly the spicy dumplings and garlic edamame. Long wait times and limited parking could make this spot tricky during peak hours, so calling ahead to the waitlist is highly recommended. A great spot for flavorful food and lively energy, especially for small groups--just come prepared for a wait and parking challenges. ”
“ Good bang for your buck hotpot. The service was great and parking wasn't too troublesome on a weekday. We ordered: - Large beef toro - Medium Kobe beef - Seasonal kimchi soup - Sukiyaki - Fish ball with roe - Udon Very good portion size for the price. We came in very hungry, and still have a bunch for leftovers. I would definitely just get two smalls next time or at least a small or medium portion for the meat. Sukiyaki was great, but the kimchi was okay. Nothing special. I just wish they had more options for veggies. Kobe beef had some thin slices that it fell apart as soon as we dipped it in the soup. The quality of cut was great though. It was pretty humid inside the restaurant itself, that I thought they had little ventilation? The steam from the pots were accumulating and it didn't seem like they had a fan to circulate the air. Otherwise, pretty solid place for hotpot. ”
“ Great service, good neighbor vibes. Food was fire, no complaints, twas a fast affair but everything i could ask for ”
“ I can't even remember how many times I've been here the past month... at least once a week for sure!! Wait times can be long during peak dinner hours, but later in the evening, I've only waited around 10 minutes. Service is consistently excellent--quick, attentive, and accommodating. While the space inside isn't huge, it's comfortable and never feels overcrowded. I generally prefer AYCE shabu but something about the food here makes me crave it every week. My go to is typically the Kobe beef/ beef belly combo with the Tom Yum base. My go-to is the Kobe beef/beef belly combo with the Tom Yum base. The broth is rich and flavorful, the meat is high quality with decent marbling, and their cilantro ponzu sauce is incredible, sooooo goood!! Portion sizes are decent, and at $30-$40 per person, it's absolutely worth it for the experience. I can't recommend this place enough! ”
